Have you recently received communication from the IRS? Careful, it may be fraudulent

Red Flags

If the communication includes the following, it is most likely fraudulent:

  • If the person contacting you is aggressive or demanding;
  • if you are asked to make an immediate payment using a pre-paid debit card, gift card, wire transfer;
  • if you threatened with law enforcement or immigration action;
  • if you receive communication via e-mail, texting or social media.
